Kirk Gauthier I first became aware of Pesta through one of DoomCharts’s Freebie Friday code giveaways. I’m a huge stoner/doom fan and fell in love instantly with the album. After a half dozen spins or so, I needed more, so I checked out their earlier releases; they did not disappoint. Though not as dark as “Faith Bathed in Blood,” this EP delivers some nice, slow, heavy doom that will have your head bobbing along to the beat. Favorite track: Black Messiah.

Colin M. Honestly, there isn't much to say about this other than that it is absolutely brilliant, top-notch doom. Favorite track: The Pyle's Ballad.

From slavery and fugitive To leader, guerrilla and revolutionary In a tie of blood and revenge For his race he raises to practice the horror From an unexplained evil The terror invades their homes Brought by shadows And present into the water Mackandal The Black Messiah! Mackandal The lord of poison! Mackandal With his followers! Mackandal The Voodoo’s father! Bringing death To their lords and masters With spasms of pain and choking With the blood of his own vomit Betrayed by one of his He was captured and tortured While the carcass of his body burned Those who subjugated him were still cursing Mackandal The Black Messiah! Mackandal The lord of poison! Mackandal With his followers! Mackandal The Voodoo’s father! “But be aware, oh, lords holders of possessions! My spirit lives On the death of each firstborn of yours Through the blood that stains the land that doesn’t belong to you!”

Psycopathy 03:37
Seeing as a stranger by his peers A pariah who cannot fit With obsessive thoughts And anti social behavior Violence, sex and death Pervade his mind With an altered conduct Walks among us The voice in the head The call to follow The smell of blood don’t let him think Close his eyes to embrace one more life The alcohol masks The face of horror Loneliness only worsens His psychotic tendencies Becoming the messenger of death With the purifying touch of his hands Freeing souls, separating them from their bodies The voice in the head The call to follow The smell of blood don’t let him think Close his eyes to embrace one more life Opening the chests one by one Removing organ by organ Masturbating with the viscera Decapitate the bodies Delight in seeing the skulls of victims Kept as Kept as Kept them as trophies The voice in the head The call to follow The smell of blood don’t let him think Close his eyes to embrace one more life

Nobody 05:31
A total stranger for you How to realize the love he had for you? No eyes at me Hypnotized by who had never noticed you Didn’t understand What was happening, nothing made sense The lucid face of madness Consumed in my eyes the reason I know everything about you Everything. Even more than yourself I bleed and suffer for you Marking my body with this sickly connection Prisoner of myself I breathe breathless Breaking the shackles And thus freeing your being Look what I do for us! For some time I write and describe with blood The desire to have you without seeing you One after another I have to face you I know everything about you Everything. Even more than yourself I bleed and suffer for you Marking my body with this sickly connection

I will make you my image I’ll make you work ‘till you die I know your… I know your name And you are marked and fried You will learn the right way You won’t laugh or cry I’ll teach you… teach you to be A killing machine of mine -What makes the grass grow? Blood, blood, blood! -What do you do in life? Kill, kill, kill! -Didn’t listen! Kill, kill, kill! -Still can’t listen! Kill, kill, kill! This is my weapon (is for battle) This is my gun (is for fun) It is my life (must control it) Like I control me. Must shoot them (before they shoot me) Whatever (it’s for fun) Must control it (like I control me) “Till there no more enemies. -What makes the grass grow? Blood, blood, blood! -What do you do in life? Kill, kill, kill! -Didn’t listen! Kill, kill, kill! -Still can’t listen! Kill, kill, kill! (Sarg.) - What do you want? (Soldier) - Kill, sir! (Sarg.) - Are you a killer? (Soldier) - Yes, sir! (Sarg.) Show me your bloody hands ‘Cause I had spotted you! Now listen, and listen well I want this gun and I want it now! What’s your problem? Don’t you dare to unload it on me? You don’t have the balls to blow my head! -What do you do in life? Kill, kill, kill! -Didn’t listen! Kill, kill, kill Kill, kill, kill Kill, kill, kill Kill, kill, kill
